Supporting people with dementia, memory loss, frailty and their unpaid carers.

Could you spare two or three hours a month to brighten someone’s day?

Would you like to help vulnerable members of your community feel happier and healthier?

The aim of Game On is to combat loneliness and isolation and provide fun activities that will boost cognitive and physical health, but we need your help to achieve this.

As an Activities Volunteer you will provide much needed friendship and activities to local residents with dementia, memory loss and frailty – plus their unpaid carers.

We would love you to join our friendly team! No previous experience is necessary as full training is provided.

Aims of Game On are:

·       To provide monthly activities involving simple sports, games, mobility exercises and other suitable activities for people with dementia, memory loss and frailty

·       To provide a café area for unpaid carers to experience respite and peer support


Volunteers should possess:

·       Good listening skills

·       Good interaction skills

·       Empathy

·       A sense of humour

·       Ideas for fun activities suitable for people with dementia, memory loss and frailty

We also ask that volunteers be:

·       Reliable

·       Patient

·       Understanding

Game On sessions will most likely be on a Monday or Friday morning once a month with a possible additional project on a Tuesday morning – but volunteers aren’t expected to attend all sessions. We are very flexible.
