To assist the Rare Breeds Centre with maintaining high levels of animal husbandry and welfare.

Responsibilities to include:

·         Feeding small animals and poultry AM

·         Feeding large animals PM

·         Putting small animal and poultry to bed PM

·         Cleaning animal pens and enclosures

·         Creating and building enrichment for animals

·         Basic maintenance and cutting back of weeds to feed to animals

·         Socialising and training animals for handling and shows

·         Provide good customer service to visitors

·         This is a physical role, including heavy lifting and involves working outside in all weathers

 

The ability to work under own initiative and independently

·         Good communication skills

·         Patience

·         Good time management

·         Problem solving skills and able to think on your feet

·         Ability to work in a team or on own

·         Ability to work in sympathy with the aims of The Salvation Army by showing respect, empathy and treating people with dignity.
