About this opportunity from HARP
A charity for the homeless are looking for Clothing Provision and Housekeeping Volunteers who will be responsible for the smooth running of the clothing sheds and laundry rooms, with support from the Coordinator. Duties include:
· Serving clients requests for clothing and other necessities.
· Ensuring that the daily laundry in both the Bradbury Centre and Heath House is washed and dried.
SKILLS
· An interest in serving people who are overcoming homelessness and multiple disadvantages.
· Enjoy sorting through donations and organise them into categories, either to be used on site or sent onto the shops, or for rag.
· A happy, empathetic demeanour, with the ability to cope with occasional challenging behaviour.
· A willingness to complete daily laundry tasks, ensuring that people who are accessing support have clean towels, clean bedding and toiletries for their morning shower.
· Be organised, punctual and reliable and keep the volunteering environment clean and tidy in compliance with health and safety legislation.
· Ability to work autonomously using your own initiative, following training and guidance, accurately tracking all tasks to timely completion.
