Emergency Night Shelter Volunteer

About this opportunity from HARP

Volunteers will start their shift at 7pm, booking in clients as they come through the door. Supporting them with accessing clean clothes and any other necessities. Engaging with the clients throughout the evening, playing games, meaningful conversations, befriending and everything else in between.

Volunteers will also be supporting with the taking in of donations and sorting.
Keeping the tea station and snacks topped up.

This is a really good role for people who enjoy giving something back to the community, someone who is sociable and enjoys lifting peoples spirits in their hour of need.

People accessing this service will have a range of complex problems, but not limited to Homelessness.

They may be experiencing problems relating to
Social Exclusion
Substance Misuse
Mental Health
General Wellbeing
Other Addictions

It is important for volunteers to be confident and have some understanding of situations our clients may be experiencing
