Folk Like Us – Feelgood Choir Leader
The Folk Like Us Hub at SAVS are looking for an enthusiastic choir lead, to lead group singing sessions for older people, encouraging participation and fun.

Folk Like Us is a free, friendly and welcoming project delivered by SAVS to support people over the age of 55 living in the city of Southend who may be feeling lonely or isolated. We are proudly supported by the National Lottery Community Fund.
As the Choir Leader for our bi-weekly Friday Feelgood Choir, you’ll use the joy of singing to bring people together, lift spirits, bringing confidence and connection through leading fun and inclusive singing sessions. You don’t need to be a professional musician – just someone with enthusiasm for music, a warm personality, and the ability to lead and engage others in group singing.
Main Tasks
· Lead group singing sessions for older people, encouraging participation and fun.
· Reliable and able to plan sessions, selecting suitable songs that everyone can enjoy.
· Create a welcoming and inclusive environment where all voices are valued.
· Help set up and tidy away any equipment or seating before and after sessions.
· Chat with members before and after the session to build connections.
· Share information about other Folk Like Us information or activities.
· Abide by SAVS’ Health & Safety, Safeguarding, and Confidentiality policies at all times.
