Call for Volunteers – join us and be one of our Angels!

Currently we are looking for volunteers or Angels’ as they have been nicknamed to cover shifts around the Knife Angel throughout July.

The role of an ‘Angel’ is to be approachable and engage with members of the public and help them find out more about The Knife Angel, events happening throughout the month, and how people can get involved.

Volunteers will play a key role in sharing information about the Knife Angel as well as services available and organisations within the community. From Monday 1st July up to and including Sunday 28th July, The Knife Angel will be on display at the top of Southend high street in the Victoria Plaza area outside the Odeon Cinema and WHSmith.

There will be four shifts per day, lasting around 2 hours. Volunteers can do one, two or as many shifts as they like.

The shift patterns are:
Monday to Friday – 9am till 11am, 11am till 1pm, 1pm till 3pm and 3pm till 5pm.
Saturday – 10am till 12pm, 12pm till 2pm, 2pm till 4pm and 4pm till 6pm.

Volunteers need to be 16 years and over. All volunteers will be supported by organisers and community safety professionals during every shift and fully briefed before the first shift.

Please note that there may be lots of standing round and walking so please bear this in mind.
