Befriender
Are you a practising Christian who is friendly, with good social skills and a positive attitude? Volunteer as a befriender with us and help our vulnerable community by providing social support.
About this opportunity from Isaiah Project
The Isaiah Project is a local charity that aims to help those in the community who are unable to change the circumstances in which they find themselves. It is open to all members of the public who need a helping hand to move on in life. We support vulnerable people to enable them to gain the life and social skills necessary to obtain and maintain independence in the community. We do this by providing ongoing support in various ways such as: housing, friendship, help with form filling, life skills, volunteering opportunities in our charity shops and liaising with other professional bodies.
We are currently looking for new female befrienders to support our residents and help to move them forward with their lives. The hours are part-time and are flexible.
As a befriender you would need to demonstrate a positive, helpful and gracious attitude at all times: be understanding and respectful to the person you are befriending; have good communication skills and be approachable, flexible, and reliable. Integrity is key within this role.
Please note: An occupational requirement exists for the post holder to be a
practising Christian in accordance with the Equality Act 2010.
