Bookstart Storyrhyme Helper
Come and help out with our under 5s and families at our weekly song and rhyme sessions. Support them to enjoy the sessions and talk to them about sharing books, whilst meeting new people.
About this opportunity from Southend Libraries
The Bookstart Team at Southend Libraries is looking for a helper to assist the Storyrhyme Leader on a Wednesday morning (term-time only) with running the weekly10.30am – 11.00am Storyrhyme session at The Forum. The helper will be required to greet and sign in families attending the session, distribute instruments and stickers and generally assist with the running of the session. Storyrhymes are fun half-hour sessions of songs, rhymes and a story for families with children 0-5.
Knowledge of Bookstart and its aims will be necessary and the relevant training will be given to enable the helper to assist families with any queries they may have.
All Bookstart volunteers are given ongoing support and twice-yearly meetings allow all to get together socially and feed back with ideas.
Some yearly mandatory online training will be required.
Bookstart volunteers are required to be punctual and have good communication and mobility.
