About this opportunity from SAVS

Are you passionate about helping people and looking for a role supporting people who have been socially isolated or have wellbeing needs? The Buddy Service Volunteers will support patients identified through the Social Prescribing Service for support to access groups and services within the community.

This role aims to:

·         Provide support to anxious individuals.

·         Promote an environment that encourages the patient to feel safe and comfortable.

·         Support people to access community facilities.

BSVs need to be calm and encouraging, as well as friendly and helpful. They are there to support patients who are nervous or unsure about attending a group for the first time. They need to be confident to travel around Southend by public transport.  BSVs will need to hold/produce an enhanced DBS Certificate.  (If you don’t already hold one, SAVS will be able to apply for this on your behalf.)
