Caretaker Volunteer
Can you help us with some caretaker duties, working with the caretaker, alongside other volunteers and the Maintenance team.

| We are looking for volunteers to support our Maintenance team by assisting to maintain our high-quality facilities at Havens Hospices. Working alongside our caretakers to effectively complete tasks. This role is important as it is a fundamental service to keep our hospices up and running smoothly for families/carers/visitors. Time Commitment: We are looking for a 4-hour commitment each week but you can choose to volunteer more if you wish
What you will be doing Support caretaker with Planned Preventative Maintenance schedule, such as testing and repairs. Support maintenance engineers with small projects. Setting up rooms for use by hirers or external guests in a timely manner and in accordance with the request Supporting building projects. Overseeing contractors with the on-duty caretaker. Support asset tagging of equipment. Support with deliveries and collections, with an understanding of safe manual handling. Assisting the caretaker with movement of furniture. Keep all shared space tidy and safe. Assist with maintenance requests from the Gardening Club, Care teams, and Facilities. Undertaking minor drill work if you are happy to do so. Work alongside other volunteers and the Maintenance team. Any other reasonable duties designated by the volunteer coordinator You will be able to communicate effectively and efficiently You will have skills in building maintenance or considerable experience of DIY You will be able to work well within a team environment You will be physically fit and active and be flexible in your availability |
