Purpose of the Role
We’re looking for a friendly and patient volunteer to support or lead casual chess sessions for residents or service users. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys the game and wants to help others improve their skills, build confidence, and have fun in a relaxed environment.
Main Responsibilities
Set up and run informal chess games and mini-tournaments
Teach basic chess moves and strategies to beginners
Encourage positive social interaction and sportsmanship
Support participants at different skill levels
Create a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere
Skills & Experience
Basic to intermediate knowledge of chess
Friendly, patient, and approachable
Good communication and listening skills
Experience working with groups (desirable, not essential)
