As a Church Trustee and Secretary, you will be responsible for managing the administrative duties of the church’s board, ensuring meetings are well-organised, and keeping accurate records of all decisions. You will work closely with the leadership team to help facilitate smooth church operations and contribute to shaping the church’s future direction.
Key Responsibilities:
Administrative Support: Organize and maintain minutes for all trustee meetings, and ensure these are accurately recorded and distributed to relevant parties.
Communication: Serve as the point of contact for official correspondence, managing both incoming and outgoing communications.
Record-Keeping: Ensure that all church records, including legal and financial documents, are properly maintained and accessible.
Governance: Support the Chairperson and other trustees in governance matters, including ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Meeting Coordination: Arrange and prepare agendas for board meetings, ensuring that necessary reports and documents are prepared in advance.
Collaborative Support: Work closely with the church leadership, volunteers, and other trustees to facilitate a cohesive and effective leadership team.
Skills and Qualifications
Strong organisational and administrative skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Experience in office management or similar roles is a plus, but not required.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate discretion.
A passion for the church’s mission and values.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Commitment
This is a voluntary position, with the flexibility to balance your time alongside other commitments. You will be expected to attend regular trustee meetings and occasionally assist with additional administrative tasks as required and there is potential for this role to be entirely remote as Zoom attendance at meetings is a possibility.
