The Clothes Shed Donation Sorter plays a vital role in ensuring that donated clothing is sorted, organised, and distributed efficiently to people experiencing homelessness. This role helps provide rough sleepers with clean, suitable, and seasonally appropriate clothing.

Key Responsibilities
Sort through donated clothing, checking for cleanliness and suitability.
Organize items by type, size, and gender for easy distribution.
Ensure only good-quality, appropriate clothing is selected for rough sleepers.
Work with the team to pack clothing into kits or distribute items based on individual needs.
Keep the clothes shed clean, organised, and well-maintained.
Follow hygiene and safety guidelines when handling donations.
Assist in identifying specific clothing needs and communicate shortages to coordinators.
Engage positively with other volunteers and support the overall mission of the organisation.

SKILLS

Skills & Qualities Needed
Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work in a team and follow instructions.
Compassion and understanding towards people experiencing homelessness.
Willingness to handle clothing donations, including sorting and folding.
Reliability and a positive attitude.

Training & Support
An introduction to the organisation and its work with rough sleepers.
Guidance on sorting and hygiene standards.
Further training opportunities available to develop skills.
Ongoing support from the Volunteer Coordinator.
