Conservation and Engagement Trustee Opportunities
Could you support the management team and become a Conservation or Community Engagement Trustee in helping our vision vision of improving the health and wellbeing of our community.
About this opportunity from Wellbeing at Garons Park
“Wellbeing At Garon Park” is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) whose aim is to build community resilience, improving the mental and physical health and wellbeing of the local community, as well as enhancing the beauty, biodiversity and environmental value of the 32 acre Garon Park site in Southend on Sea.
The activities delivered by the charity are growing as more local organisations come and use the natural beauty of the park to support and enable their work, whether that be visiting the Mens’ Shed, the community garden, the nature school, or the outdoor gym, to name just a few of the available facilities.
To steer this work effectively we are looking for two new Trustees to join the board. One with a focus on Conservation and the second with a focus on Community Engagement.
Your role as a Trustee would be to support the management team in setting the strategic direction for their work, providing expert input and advice, using your networks to connect the team to relevant wider initiatives and organisations and occasionally, if your time permits, getting hands on at the park by supporting events.
The role has the potential to bring you a sense of satisfaction and pride that you are helping build the resilience of our landscapes and our community and sharing your expertise for the benefit of the others.
These new Trustees will help the charity deliver on an ambitious vision of improving the health and wellbeing of our community.
Experience of designing and implementing conservation strategies at scale is required for the Conservation Trustee post.
Experience of working in different communities ‘at the coal face’ and enjoyment in meeting and helping people is required for the Engagement Trustee post.
