Events and Fundraising Volunteer

Are you a confident person who enjoys meeting new people and has a couple of hours free every now and then, to help our charity with one off events such as bucket collections and food drives?

About this opportunity from HARP

Bucket collections overview-
Bucket collection are fundraising efforts where volunteers or charity representatives collect donations from the public in physical buckets, typically in busy public spaces like shopping centres, train stations, or during events. The goal is to raise funds to support the charity by providing essentials like food, shelter, and access to support services.

For a homeless charity, these collections can help cover a range of services, such as providing emergency accommodation, meals, healthcare, and rehabilitation programs. The charity may also use the funds to raise awareness about homelessness and advocate for long-term solutions.

These collections are often organized by volunteers, community groups

Food drive overview
Food drives for a homeless charity focus on collecting food donations to support individuals experiencing homelessness. These drives typically ask the local community to donate non-perishable food items like canned goods, pasta, rice, and snacks, which can be easily stored and distributed.

The collected food is then delivered to HARP and goes directly to support people experiencing homelessness. The goal is to provide nourishing meals and essential food supplies to help meet the immediate needs of those without stable housing.

In addition to food, some drives may also collect hygiene products, blankets, or other essentials. Food drives also raise awareness of homelessness in the community and encourage local involvement in tackling the issue.

Volunteers will need to be able to talk to the public confidently, full training will also be given
