Can you spare time to water the Gardens at Trustlinks Westcliff or Basildon?

Our Therapeutic Gardens in Westcliff and Basildon are currently only open in the week, so we need volunteers to come in on the days we are not facilitating sessions, to water and care for all the plants on site. Mainly weekend and Bank Holidays.

You will be watering all the plants in the garden, polytunnels and potting shed using a large hose and smaller watering cans.

The times are flexible but a commitment to the day you pick to volunteer is essential. So plants don’t die.

We will mainly consider applicants who live within walking distance of our gardens.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE:

Support with caring and watering all plants.

Water and care for all plants on the agreed shift.
Participate in the volunteer recruitment process of, an informal interview, recruitment checks and the volunteer induction and training
Report back on any issues or concerns about the gardens to project staff
Liaise with the Growing Together staff to make sure all plants are cared for
Notify staff as soon as possible if you are unable to attend your shift
Ensure Health and Safety regulations are adhered to in line with Trust Links Health and Safety policy
