Where: Belle Vue Baptist Church

When: Tuesdays – weekly

Time commitment: 12pm – 1pm
Or 12pm – 3:30pm if you are able to stay for the session.

Overview of the role: This role involves provide direct support to people who use food banks. The role is to help set up the foodbank ready for when our guests arrive. We need someone physically strong and able to lift to be able to move the boxes of food from the warehouse to Belle Vue next door (there will be use of a trolly).
This role will take approximately an hour.

If you are able to stay for the whole session the following duties will also apply:

Packing up the food parcels, making our guests feel comfortable and providing further signposting support where appropriate.

Key tasks
• Helping to set up for the session 12pm – 1-pm

If you are able to stay for the whole session other duties may include:

• Welcome clients to the foodbank centre
• Receive vouchers, check validity, and prepare food parcels according to the standard packing lists
• Make refreshments and tidy up as required during the session
• Offer a listening ear and signpost clients, as required
• Help pack up at the end of the session
• Work under the guidance of the session leader and report any health & safety or safeguarding concerns to the project manager/session supervisor

You will be given all the required training and support before starting your role.
