Selfie sign attendant
Do you like taking a trip down the Pier and being outdoors? This opportunity will give you full access to the pier, as well as an opportunity to help the public capture their moment with a photo!
About this opportunity from Southend City Council - Southend Pier
A brand new selfie signpost has been installed at the Pier head and offers visitors the unique opportunity to have a bespoke message installed beneath the main sign to make their picture truly unique. We need 2 volunteers to be on hand at the sign to take payment, install the correct wording beneath the sign for the customer and even take the picture. Selfies without a bespoke message are free but there is a charge for the bespoke message which is where the volunteer comes in.
The volunteer will get free access to Southend Pier and travel to the Pierhead by train or walk if they would prefer and will have access to staff areas for breaks. In addition we will be offering a daily meal option at the offshore café/restaurant and parking space in the Pier compound for on duty volunteers.
Skills
Volunteers should be relatively active and able to be on their feet for extended periods. They need to be good communicators and comfortable interacting with the public and working with others as well as conversant with taking contactless card payments; although training will be given for this. An interest in, and knowledge of, the Pier would be beneficial along with a friendly welcoming demeanor to give our visitors the best experience possible.
