We are seeking a dedicated volunteer Treasurer to oversee and guide the financial management of our organisation. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing budgets, producing regular financial reports, and advising the Board of Trustees on financial matters. You will also help support our transition to a new accounting system—likely Sage or QuickBooks—by offering insight, evaluating options, and assisting with implementation.

The role is fairly involved and requires a minimum monthly time commitment. We have a preference for someone based in or near Essex to facilitate in-person meetings.

SKILLS

Formal accounting qualifications are welcome but not required.

Experience in business finance, bookkeeping, or financial management.

Familiarity with accounting software; experience with Sage or QuickBooks.

Ability to produce clear reports and advise a leadership team.

Integrity and understanding of confidentiality in financial matters.

Willingness to commit time consistently each month and collaborate with the Board of Trustees.
