Do you enjoy peaceful moments outdoors and want to help keep our gardens green and thriving? Flexible role ideal for someone who loves the outdoors in all weathers
About this opportunity from Wellbeing at Garons Park
Do you enjoy peaceful moments outdoors and want to help keep our gardens green and thriving? We’re looking for someone with a gentle touch and a love for plants to help us water and care for our green spaces and conservation features across Garon Park. Whether you’re an early riser or prefer a quiet afternoon, your help will make a big difference in keeping our green space looking healthy and beautiful.
Working with us offers a rewarding and enjoyable experience, combining the calming benefits of spending time with plants with the opportunity to learn more about plant care and sustainable gardening practices. You’ll be part of a friendly, welcoming environment where you can share a free lunch and good company with others. From the outset, you’ll receive a warm introduction to the site and clear guidance on watering routines, along with all the necessary equipment such as watering cans and hoses. Throughout your time with us, experienced staff and volunteers will be on hand to provide support and advice, helping you build confidence and skills while contributing to a positive and relaxed atmosphere.
You’ll be:
a. Watering plants in our herb gardens, raised beds, and community garden areas
b. Checking moisture levels and adjusting watering based on weather and plant needs
c. Helping to refill water containers and hoses as needed
d. Reporting any signs of plant stress or pests to the garden team
e. Lending a hand at community events or open days if you’re up for it!
