Citizen Science Volunteer

Enjoy being at one with nature and help us record and survey plants, insects, birds, and anything else interesting across a variety of habitats to help us better understand our environment.

About this opportunity from Wellbeing at Garons Park

Join us for a fun and meaningful experience exploring a local park – help us record and survey plants, insects, birds, and anything else interesting across a variety of habitats. You’ll assist by noting numbers, locations, and changes using a simple form or phone app, and help pop the findings into a spreadsheet with some basic charts (don’t worry, our friendly team is here to guide you!). We’d also love your support at occasional community events or open days to share our work with others!

Enjoy fresh air and friendly company while discovering our local wildlife in the great outdoors. Along the way, you’ll learn about our area’s flora and see how your contributions help make a real difference through data.

We can’t assess our impact without monitoring and evaluation of our conservation schemes. Citizen Science volunteers are at the forefront of our efforts to enhance the local environment and promote the value of our site. We’re looking for curious, community-minded people to help us keep an eye on the local wildlife and nature at Garon Park. If you like a bit of outdoor time, enjoy noticing birds, bugs or plants, and don’t mind jotting things down or snapping a photo on your phone—we’d love your help.
