About this opportunity from Bar 'n' Bus Trust
As our Communications Volunteer you will work closely with the Bar ‘n’ Bus youth development team to share news about the amazing work they do to support young people locally.
Core Tasks:
· Researching and collating good news stories from the Bar ‘n’ Bus youth work team – including visiting sessions as appropriate
· Writing regular press releases and news items relating to Bar ‘n’ Bus’ work with young people
· Collating information to generate regular Bar ‘n’ Bus newsletters for supporter base
· Creating and maintaining relationships with local press contacts
Exploring wider press engagement opportunities – e.g. TV and Radio as opportunities arise
This role is suitable for working from home but will require visiting the office and team meetings. Our office is located in Hadleigh, Benfleet.
A passion and flair for writing
· Competent in use of IT software – e.g. Microsoft Office suite
· Strong networking skills
· Good organisational skills
· Nice to have – image creation skills and an eye for graphic design

Commitment
Specific times to be confirmed, but can be at volunteer’s convenience. Team Meetings are Monday mornings and it would be good for the role holder to attend on a regular (e.g. monthly) basis to cross over with team.
Office Space available, suitable for work from home but will require visiting the team and potentially some youth work locations. Our office is located in Hadleigh, Benfleet. Transport support available.
