Driver – Westcliff

Do you have your own vehicle to transport food, with a valid driving licence, MOT if needed, tax and appropriate insurance Help us get the food parcels to those who need this additional support.

About this opportunity from Southend Foodbank

We are looking for a driver (able and willing to drive the van preferably, or use own large car) to join a rota, working in a pair, to deliver boxes from the Warehouse to Westcliff Distribution Centre on Tuesday mornings, generally a couple of times a month.

You will be using your driving skills as an important part of the ‘behind the scenes’ operation of Southend Foodbank, helping people in food poverty and making a difference in your local community.

We need drivers to help get the food parcels to the Distribution Centre so the food can reach those who need this additional support.

SKILLS

Drivers need to either have their own vehicle to transport food, with a valid driving licence, MOT if needed, tax and appropriate insurance or they need to be willing and able to drive a van – with a valid clean driving licence, have a clean bill of health for driving, have made no claims within the last five years, and be aged over 30. Drivers also need to be comfortable lifting heavy weights safely.
