About this opportunity from Wellbeing at Garons Park

We are seeking friendly and proactive volunteers to support our Summer Community Event at Garon Park by collecting short, meaningful feedback from visitors. Volunteers will be positioned across key areas of the site to ask a simple, engaging question about people’s experience of the park, its facilities, and the event.
This role plays a crucial part in helping us understand how people use, value, and connect with Garon Park.

This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a high-impact community project while developing valuable transferable skills.

Garon Park is more than a green space—it is a community hub tackling health inequalities, supporting wellbeing, and reconnecting people with nature. But to evidence this locally, we must capture direct visitor feedback, not just usage numbers. On busy event days, staff are focused on delivery and safety, so volunteers are essential to ensure this critical insight is not lost. Without it. we risk missing opportunities to improve the visitor experience and cannot effectively track how Garon Park supports our community over time.
Volunteer-led data collection helps turn everyday conversations into powerful evidence that shapes the future of the park. By volunteering at our Summer Community Event, your contribution will directly the site’s future development and the continued growth of a space that already welcomes thousands of visitors and delivers measurable community impact every year.

SKILLS

We are looking for volunteers who are:
• Friendly, approachable and confident speaking to new people
• Comfortable working in busy, dynamic environments
• Reliable and able to follow simple instructions
• Interested in community wellbeing, green spaces or research
No previous experience is required – all required training and support will be provided.

What matters most is a positive attitude and willingness to engage. Please be aware that this is a very forward facing role, and an ability to communicate with the public is key.
