PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

Fundraising and events volunteering is versatile and flexible, suitable for anybody who has a few hours to spare as and when.

This volunteer position offers a great opportunity to gain an understanding about Trust Links and engage with other volunteers, staff, and local supporters pre, during and post events.

 

The Volunteer will be required to:

·       Share promotional and fundraising ideas with the team to raise the charity’s profile and attract new support.

·       Assist with the planning and preparation of events, alongside other volunteers, and staff.

·       Provide practical support, helping to set up at events held at Trust Links sites or external sites as agreed.

·       Be punctual and happy to work alongside new people.

·       Promote Trust Links and its associated projects to the public through posters, letters, and flyers.

·       Hold Trust Links values at high regard and keep a professional but friendly manner during the volunteering session.

·       Be flexible when attending events – e.g. help to set up/pack away, assist in covering a stall, tracking the number of attendees etc.

·       Attend and participate in team fundraising and communications meetings where possible.

This is an ad-hoc role suitable for anybody who has a few hours to spare on weekends and weekdays, as and when.

 

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE:

·       Support Trust Links with events such as open days, fundraisers and community events as agreed.

·       Promote Trust Links and promote Trust Links and its projects to members of the public in a positive way.

·       Support other volunteers and staff at fundraising events, conferences and open days held at Trust Links sites (this could be inside buildings or outside in the project grounds), and/or community events.

·       Ensure Health and Safety regulations are adhered to in line with Trust Links Health and Safety policy

·       Share ideas on fundraising and communications to help the charity grow and support more people facing mental health challenges.

 

Volunteers will need to be:

·     Good communicators and have people skills

·     Practical, with skills in basic math

·     Prepared to be outdoors for few hours at a time

·     Flexible

·     Empathetic and have good listening skills

·     Punctual

·     Committed to the volunteering role on the day

·     Friendly and non-judgmental

Commitment

This is a flexible role, 4-6 hours at a time. We have a variety of events and fundraising opportunities available weekdays, evenings and at weekends at all Trust Links sites and surrounding areas (Essex only) Commitment to at least one event a month, is desired.
