About this opportunity from Age Concern

We are looking for Befrienders to visit somebody in their community who is feeling lonely or isolated and spend approximately an hour a week with them for companionship and conversation. We try and place Face to Face Befrienders so that minimal travel is involved, unless local is not wanted. A DBS certificate is required, this is arranged by Age Concern Southend at no cost to the volunteer.

Good listening and communication skills are needed, and you would need to be able to travel to a person’s home within the Southend area.
