Harlow Tea Party Driver
Could you be a tea party driver once a month on a Sunday afternoon? Help bringing our guests to our monthly tea parties and then home again after a conversation filled, treat laden afternoon.
About this opportunity from Re-engage (Formerly Contact The Elderly)
Bring smiles, stories, and company to someone\’s Sunday.
As a tea party driver, you\’ll help bring older guests to life\’s sweetest gatherings – our monthly tea parties!
You\’ll collect guests from their homes, enjoy the drive and a good natter along the way, and make sure everyone gets home safely afterwards.
Each month, a different volunteer host in Basildon kindly opens their home for a friendly get-together filled with tea, cake and good conversation. You\’ll be part of a small, welcoming team that includes other drivers and a group coordinator – all there to make the afternoon special for our guests.
Our tea parties usually last around two hours on a Sunday afternoon, but the joy and friendship they bring can last so much longer. For many older people, these gatherings are a lifeline – a chance to reconnect, share stories, and feel part of the community again.
SKILLS
Our tea party drivers are the friendly faces who help make the magic happen every month. You\’ll make sure older guests get to and from the tea parties safely – but you\’ll also bring so much more than that: reassurance, conversation and connection.
You just need a kind heart, a safe pair of hands, and a love of good company.
