Volunteer Treasurer (Finance Trustee)

Can you help us? We are looking for a finance professional or charity governance specialist to join as our founding Treasurer.

About this opportunity from Nestling Learning Charity

Nestling Learning Charity is a new UK Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO in formation – we are applying to the Charity Commission and are not yet registered). Our aim is to remove financial barriers to early childhood education by giving families, nurseries and communities across the UK completely free EYFS and KS1 learning tools, games and printable resources, with a particular focus on underserved communities. We are now appointing our founding independent Board of Trustees.

– Lead on annual accounts and Charity Commission and HMRC filings, in line with the Charities SORP
– Provide independent oversight of conflicts of interest and of any arrangements with related organisations
– Make sure grants and donations are used solely for charitable purposes
– Take part in board decisions as a founding trustee

Time and terms
– Voluntary and unpaid, about 4 to 8 hours a month
– Fully remote, with no travel needed, and any reasonable out-of-pocket costs reimbursed
– Meetings by video call on weekday evenings or weekends
– Initial 3-year term
– Appointment subject to a Charity Commission trustee eligibility declaration

We warmly welcome applicants from all backgrounds, especially people from groups under-represented on charity boards.
