Southend Pier Museum has 7,500+ artifacts, ranging from postcards to train carriages. The Digitisation project sets out to capture and store digitally all items recorded within the Southend Pier Museum’s archive/artefact register.
Purpose of this role:
By joining the team at Southend Pier Museum, you will be responsible for adding the digitisation photographs against the correct artefact entry in the Museum’s database (Modes) and checking accuracy of the completed records for the digitisation project.
Main activities include:
• Work with the digitisation project planners to schedule data entry activities.
• Inputting photographic data against the artefact catalogue entry in the Modes database.
• Cross checking correct digitisation record with the catalogue entry and reporting on progress.

• Have an interest and/or experience in photography activities.
• Are friendly and approachable.
• Have an enthusiasm for working with people of a variety of ages and backgrounds.
• Are willing to undertake training related to the role.
