We are looking for parent volunteers who are happy to share their lived experienced, on a variety of themes who could bring value and knowledge to a meeting, discussion and/or workshop.
We know that the parent voice can be powerful, and Southend City Council and SAVS want to collaborate with parents to share their lived experience. A new exciting volunteer opportunity to be part of meaningful discussions with partners across Local Authority, Health and Education. Bringing local insight and positive change to Southend and in your community.
Do you live in Southend?
Are you a pregnant and preparing for the start of a new family and/or an existing parent with a child or children aged 0-11?
Do you have a lived experience that you would like to share? i.e. life in Southend as a parent, accessing services delivered across the city, health?
We are looking to create a group of 20 Parent Voice Ambassadors from across Southend City. Our aim is to provide regular opportunities on a monthly basis. Together with the Ambassadors we will also work with Southend partners to create new opportunities where the parent voice can have a platform to help shape the future of our city.
Expectations
To complete an expression of interest form, which will help us understand your themes and capacity.
If a current opportunity is in line with your capacity and you wish to proceed you will be enrolled as a SAVS volunteer.
As a SAVS volunteer you will be supported by Southend’s Parent Voice Team so that the experience brings value and meaning to your lived experience.
As a SAVS volunteer you will be happy to attend at least 1 opportunity every 2 months
As a SAVS volunteer you will feedback on your experience which will help us understand what might be needed to make this experience better.
As a SAVS volunteer you will attend a monthly meet up with other Parent Voice Ambassadors.
