Trustees/Directors – Cart and Wagon Shed. Shoeburyness
Could you spare some hours each month to help take the Cart & Wagon Shed, in Shoebury, to the next level? Trustee/Director volunteers are needed to help reach our aim of being an inspirational hub
About this opportunity from Shoebury Coastal CIC
We are looking for new trustees to help take the Cart and Wagon Shed project to the next level.
The Cart and Wagon Shed is a listed Victorian formerly-military building on Shoebury Garrison which has been converted for use as a heritage and community centre and houses the Shoebury Archives. We opened to the public in 2022 with permanent and temporary exhibitions that highlight the unique military, civilian and natural history of Shoeburyness. We aim to become an inspirational hub for heritage interpretation and community activity, with a focus on volunteering and attracting new visitors to explore the amazing surrounds of the Garrison and Gunners Park as well as the wider Shoebury area. With this in view, we are seeking substantial new funding to upgrade our exhibitions and to support a wide range of heritage-related and community activities. Our plans include working towards obtaining accredited museum status.
To help us achieve these goals, we hope to recruit additional volunteer trustees/directors to assist in the governance and management of the operation and the oversight of new initiatives.
