Bookstart Storyrhyme Volunteer at Westcliff Library on Tuesday mornings (term time)

Welcome families into the sessions, check bookings, assist with the running of the one hour sessions. There is also an opportunity to expand your skills and lead sessions if you would like.

A Storyrhyme volunteer who will assist/lead half hour weekly song, rhyme and story sessions for families with 0-5’s at Westcliff library alongside another volunteer.
This is a great opportunity to engage with families, share the love of stories and rhymes and enhance these wonderful weekly Bookstart sessions in libraries.
Volunteers are needed to welcome families into the sessions, check bookings, assist with the running of the sessions …..or if you feel you would like to do more …there is the opportunity to lead your own session!

SKILLS

Good communication skills, especially listening and talking.
Friendly personality with a positive interest in working with children and parents/carers.
Reliable, particularly in terms of timekeeping.
Be willing to complete mandatory online training e.g. data protection, equality & diversity
