About this opportunity from Southend West Scouts
Southend West District need a strong team player with excellent judgement, analytical and organisational skills to join our Trustee Board. We’ll provide excellent training and support and a full handover by existing trustee members
You will help manage and monitor the financial activities of our Explorer Units and the expenditure for any District activities, acting as Treasurer. You will ensure our excellent Leaders have their expenses reimbursed quickly. You will prepare and present financial snapshots status and accounts and while supporting budgets and financial planning process in accordance with Charity Commission legal regulations.
We also have a hardship funds policy so you will personally ensure charitable funding requests receive the right help to support young people and adults Scouting in the District. This might include financial help for opening new sections, supporting leaders with specialist training, sending young people on international events or supporting a young person for whom financial affordability would otherwise be a barrier to participation.
With excellent IT Skills and the ability to summarise and communicate complex financial information, you will also be willing and eligible to act as a Charity Trustee. You don’t need to be, or have ever been a Scout yourself.
No qualifications needed , but a level of financial competence needed.
