About this opportunity from Jewish Care

Role Summary: This role is essential in ensuring that our Meals on Wheels clients are provided with nutritious, kosher meals. The number of meals will be pre-arranged in advance and you will volunteer on an agreed route. Meals are picked up from the Southend and Westcliff Day Cantre and delivered on a route that suits you. You can volunteer to deliver meals once a week, once a month, with a friend, with a group, or on your own – whatever works best for you! Ideally, we are looking for long term weekly drivers, but can also accommodate a small number of monthly ad-hoc drivers.

How this role makes a difference: Volunteering for Meals on Wheels is a great way to make a huge impact in a short amount of time. By delivering meals, you bring nutritious kosher food and a friendly visit to older people in your community.

 Keeping your skills and knowledge up to date by taking part in relevant training.
 Reading and following our policies and procedures – designed to keep you and the client we support safe and happy. We’ve got guidance around safeguarding, lone working, confidentiality and role boundaries to help with this. We’ll ask you to sign-in to say you understand them.
 Representing the charity well to the wider public.

You will need

 Confidently engage with a diverse range of people and enjoy helping others.
