About this opportunity from Southend City Council Targeted Youth Services

Is Youth Work something that interests you?

Southend City Council runs 16 youth groups across four venues in Southend and Shoeburyness.
The sessions are held Monday to Friday in the late afternoons and evenings and during the day on a Saturday.
Sessions are for children and young people ages 5y to 18 y or up to 25y for those with SEND.
We provide a safe space for the young people to socialise within which they can enjoy sports, arts & crafts, cookery, computer & board games, advice and guidance and PSHE education.
As a volunteer you would be required to join in with the setting up of youth group sessions, all of the activities, and the tidying up afterwards.
The young people would expect you to join in all of the activities which include arts and crafts, sports, sometimes singing and dancing.
In return, you will enjoy fun and laughter with the young people and the staff who run the sessions.
We are keen to have more adults on board in order to be able to increase our attendance numbers.
Previous experience of working with children and young people.
