About this opportunity from St Luke's Ward Community Association

The Community Cafe at Cluny Square (“Cafe@thesquare”) is currently closed  and we are hoping we will be able to reopen it soon. To be able to do this, we need to assemble a team of enthusiastic volunteers to work under our new full-time cafe manager.

A range of volunteering opportunities are available from “front of house” (waiting on tables, taking orders), to simple kitchen tasks (washing up, cleaning surfaces etc) to assisting with cooking of meals during busier times.

Volunteering hours can be flexible and to suit those who are willing to be involved. We are looking to build a strong volunteering team with good communication skills and friendly personalities. Experience in the catering sector can be gained and, potentially, training could be provided. The cafe is a community resource and is appreciated by many who live locally.

Skills

Formal qualifications are not essential but those with experience of work (paid or voluntary) in the catering sector would be most welcome to apply.

Activity Types

Cooking and Catering | Retail | Supporting charities

Interests

Families and Parenting | Health and Social Care

Commitment

Ideally for a period of 3-4 hours within the cafe opening times of 8am to 2pm Monday to Friday.
