The board needs to be made up of individuals who are able to bring skills, knowledge and experience that will enable to Charity to develop and deliver on the key aims. With this in mind the board have identified key areas they would like to address:

• Mental Health
• Adult social care and wellbeing
• Children’s Services and Education
• Creative and cultural services
• Finance
• Community Engagement
• Business Engagement
Wellbeing At Garon Park is a charity with the aim of improving the health and wellbeing of the people in the Southend area. WB@GP provides a range of new, sustainable facilities and activities at Garon Park, making best use of the site’s natural beauty and tranquillity.
A secondary aim is to improve the biodiversity of the site which will enable us to continue to use it to support the health and wellbeing of local residents.
The board of trustees have overall control of the charity and are responsible for making sure it is doing what it was set up to do.
Trustees 5 Main Duties
1. Ensure your charity is carrying out its purposes for the public benefit
2. Comply with WB@GP governing document and the law
3. Act in the best interests of WB@GP
4. Manage WB@GP resources responsibly
5. Ensure WB@GP is accountable

 

Skills

We are looking for an individual who is passionate about Southend and supporting the residents of Southend to improve their health and wellbeing through the provision of quality facilities and by enabling access.
We are also passionate about improving the biodiversity of this amazing site again to support the health and wellbeing of Southend residents
We are looking for someone to help us achieve these goals

Be over the age of 16 years
They can not have been bankrupt or have a IVA
They can not have unspent criminal convictions for certain offences (This would include anything involving dishonesty, deception or child welfare)
They can not be on the sex offenders register.

WB@GP Trustee meetings take place on a monthly basis and trustees are expected to attend at least 50% of these meetings in person or virtually.

Commitment

A trustee is able to support us when it is convenient to them. We do host a monthly meeting and the person would be expected to attend this meeting either in person . We would expect the person to attend at least 50% of meetings
